Ironically, the Datsun name predates the Nissan Name in Japan.

I did not wrote that, I thought it was funny. I actually don't think Nissan is any good currently. 370Z is hopeless against the muscle car competition, and with the C7 Corvette Z06 offered with a true transmission, manuel, there is no reason to buy a GT-R.

Best offering from an asian company most recently was probably 2006 mazda. Miata, Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6, and RX8. Plus their regular cars at the time were great. Nissan, to me at least, has the best history though.
IDK why these companies are letting Ford get away with 2 hot hatches and a GT with multiple trim levels with no competition other than a 370z.
